POP Mail Settings

Hey guys,
I've been lurking on his forum and I wanted to pose a question. Hopefually more people start coming here for information. That would be great.

Anyway,

I have set up my own NameServers and my sites are working great. The only thing I want to do is be able to do POP, but I dont want to use POP.1and1.com and SMTP.1and1.com

If I set these names up POP.mydomain.com SMTP.mydomain.com do you think it will work?

if your using your root box as your name server then you should already have that functionality by using mail.domain.com. You could setup additional DNS records for pop.domain.com and smtp.domain.com but wouldn't really be necessary.
