prob sending email

Hi,

starting a few day ago, i can't send email via my box. i allways receice this message from outlook.

Task...sending reported error (0 X 80042109): Outlook is unable to connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message contact your server administrator...".

i'm the administrator.. i have to resolve this... i have check the firewall setting in psa and everithing is ok, (port for smtp and pop is open) i have no other firewall.

Did you check the box in your outlook client for "SMTP server requires authentication" ?

Did you try to telnet to port 25 on the mail server and send an email message from the command line

Did you try a port scan of the server from that workstation to make sure the ports are available from that workstation ?

HI, i have finaly found the probleme... from the box i can telnet to port 25, from a dilup account from my proviter i can also, from my work (we use the same provider (ie videotron in montreal) it work.. but it dosen't from my cable connection. i have check all my firewall setting and finaly i have call custmers support and they said thay have close port 25 for outbound connection. they said if y would like to connect to another mail server i have to but a busniess account.. that sucks,.. (sorry for that)
