Use meta tags, ALT tags, descriptions, and name your images to reflect keywords in your site.
META TAGS are used in HTML by web designers to describe elements of the website, more specifically it's information about the document content. Meta tags describe the website and files themselves and are only visible on the site when viewing the source code. Many search engines look for meta tags to learn, index, and categorize websites.
ALT TAGS are normally used to describe images with text when the images are not available to be displayed. It's advisable to use a description of the image based on what it's purpose in the site is, not on what the image actually is.
Hyperlink Descriptions are used to add relevant text to a link when you hover over it and some search engines use this to help identify relevant content in your site.
All of these items are useful in tuning your website to be more search engine friendly.
