Alright guys i just recently installed a ut server and figured why not contribute what i learned, so here it is.
Before getting started, make sure you have at least 600mb(i think) or preferably 1-2gb of space for maps and other files. Also if you want this to work smoothly it would be a good idea to just go ahead and allow the udp inbound and outbound ports 7777,7778,7779,7780,7781,9999, and 27900 for you're firewall so you dont have to do it later.
Okay connect to the user you are going to install the server on via you're favorite ssh client (im using putty) and change to the directory you want to install under then enter the following:
wget http://public.planetmirror.com/pub/lokigames/installers/ut/ut-server-436.tar.gz
Thats about 90mb, after it is done type this:
tar zxvpf ut-server-436.tar.gz
Everything should have then unpacked to the directory ut-server.
Thats it! although the installation is done you still need to configure you're server, there are two methods of doing this. One method would be to edit the ini files manually and set up everything to you're liking or you can download ASU like i did and it will make it a bit easier.
Download ASU just as i did the ut-server-436.tar.gz via ftp://ftp.abfackeln.com/pub/linux/ut/asu/asu-0.6.tar.gz and make sure you are in the servers directory, which in my case would be httpdocs/ut-server. Go ahead and unpack it just as i did for ut-server-436.tar.gz.Run the asu.sh file like bash asu.sh and you should see a menu of things you can configure, set it up to your liking. In the menu enter s and config the settings with you're info, afterwards enter I to make the init script to start/stop/restart you're server, the cmd should then be displayed after you enter everything.
Finished, if you need help on further config for the server i recommend posting on the unreal admin page forums @ http://www.unrealadmin.org/forums/
