Anyone else out there with a dedicated Linux/Plesk box experience a total hard drive failure? Just want to get an idea if it is more/less common there as it happened to me this past weekend. Caught it early in the process and had a psadump to work from, so it could have been much worse.
I just wonder if they can deliver so cheaply by using lesser quality drives.
On that note, I am considering strongly setting up a failover solution. They don't (yet) offer any RAID there, though I am told the offering for dedicated servers will be improved in the spring. Anyone have any suggestions they have used for this? I guess ideally the other box would be at a different provider for an optimal failover solution.
