UK Server support Offline

In the UK the usual process for calling 1&1 Tech support is to call the standard tech support line and 'press 4' for server support.

Its been offline for the last 4 hours. (now 20:20 UK time). If you call the number and 'press 4' it directs out. No ring, no warning, not even a redirect, it just hangs up.

I've now been in the standard Tech support "Queue" for 43 minutes.

All I want is the fax number to confirm a domain transfer. They used to actually put the number on the for. Not any more.

So the UK has a dedicated phone support option for dedicated server customers?

They certainly used to have a department for Dedicated servers.

From my experience tonight i'm starting to doubt it.

Wow, what a f'ing process to get the number to confirm a domain transfer.

As many of you know, if you want to transfer a domain away from 1&1 you have to fax signed documents. In the past I've not had a problem with this.

In the UK you normally request the transfer through http://contract.oneandone.co.uk they send electronically the forms , you print, sign and fax the forms back and thats the end of it.

They have removed the fax number from the forms.

They want the documents signed and faxed back but they have removed the ****ing fax number they want the forms faxed back to?

It took me 128 minutes on the UK (charged) tech support line, who put me through to a Phillipenes based support rep who put me on hold for 10 minutes while he tracked down the UK fax number I need.

While I was waiting for 128 minutes I had quite a while to look through the official 1&1 FAQ's. Every single mention of the fax number that I needed and have used 5 times before has been removed from the UK 1&1 FAQs.

And it now appears that they have discontinued the UK's dedicated server support line.
